About Four Winds Casino New Buffalo in MI

Four Winds Casino New Buffalo opened in 2007 and was the first of four gambling operations launched by the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians. The Band has since launched two other satellite facilities in Michigan (in Hartford and Dowagiac), and one in South Bend, IN.

Plans for casino construction began in May 1996, with a total construction cost of $180 million. Four Winds New Buffalo also underwent a major renovation in 2011, which added 250 hotel rooms and a multi-purpose facility to the venue (which opened in 2012).

In 2015, USA Today named Four Winds Casino New Buffalo as one of the 10 best U.S. casinos outside of Las Vegas.
